How do I clean it?

Can I use it as a plug?
Strainer only; no stopper. A hair catcher or open strainer alone is designed to allow water through.
What if the sink is already draining slowly?
Remove and clean the catcher first. If the empty drain is still slow, the issue may be farther down the pipe. A catcher does not remove an existing blockage.
